Effective nutrition education establishes a level of competence in the area of food and nutrition service. Appropriate face to face, in-service training is required regularly to optimise the skill set of the workforce. With the changing landscape of emerging nutrition issues, the recent advent of the Australian Dietary Guidelines and accreditation requirements are driving change within your industry. Face to face training has been proven to be the most effective method of mobilising change in a workplace.  

The goal of in-service training is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills they need to gain to make decisions around food provision for clients. In-service training provides the opportunity for qualified facilitators to respond to a group’s level of knowledge.

Contextualised professional development can include ;

  • Food talk for families (1.5 hrs) -  Would you like to assist your families to improve the home food environment to optimise your clients health, "click here" for booking enquiry. 

         Cost $40 per person, minimum 15 participants

  • Building nutrition knowledge to optimise health of your clients (2 hrs) -These sessions can be customised to the centre’s needs and can include: clients nutritional needs, meal time management and optimising nutrition.  The use of practical demonstrations, resources and examples make the information easy to understand and apply, "click here" for booking enquiry

          Cost $100 per person, minimum 15 participants

  • Nurturing Self  (2 hrs) - This session focuses on self management, goal setting and self regulation, for staff, which includes how to optimise health through evidenced-based nutrition and lifestyle advice, "click here" for booking enquiry.

           Cost $100 per person, minimum 15 participants

  • Advanced Allergy Readiness (2 hrs) -This session supports the discussion of allergy policy and allergy action plans and the responsibilities of staff.  Pre-requisite e-training required  This session will include discussion of practical risk minimisation strategies for  centres including, food storage and preparation information.  For Childcare centres – ASCIA Anaphylaxis e-training for childcare. On completion of this course you can print a certificate of completion. This training is ACECQA approved,"click here" for booking enquiry.
